Unboxing and First Impressions

The Polono label printer arrived in a compact box, smaller than expected for a printer with a claimed printing speed of 60 labels per minute. The packaging was simple, containing the printer, power cable, USB cable, and a small flash drive that I assumed held the drivers. Initial impressions were positive; the printer felt sturdy and well-built.

Printing Speed and Label Capacity

The printer lived up to its claim of a fast printing speed. It printed a test label almost instantly. This is a vast improvement over my previous label printer, which often jammed and slowed down my workflow.

The printer came with a relatively small quantity of labels, but these were just samples. The larger label rolls offer significantly more labels, making this a practical choice for bulk printing.

Comparing the Polono’s compact size to the bulkier label roll from my Dynamo printer highlighted the efficiency of the Polono’s design, as well as it’s higher capacity in terms of labels printed.

Software and Integration

Setting up the printer was relatively easy. Installing the drivers from the included flash drive was straightforward and allowed the printer to be recognized by my laptop. However, I had some trouble integrating it with my Amazon order printing system.

The printer driver did not automatically detect the 4x6 label size, which I needed. I had to manually select the custom size. The software interface is not as intuitive as I’d hoped.

After installing the correct drivers, the printer successfully printed labels from my Amazon orders. The print quality is excellent, with sharp and clear labels.

I found the lack of automatic label size detection frustrating. Manually selecting the correct size each time isn't ideal. However, the overall speed and cost-effectiveness make this a worthwhile investment.
